What Makes Our Tutors Different?
Not every academic professional is cut out to be a tutor. At Tutor LIM, we hand pick individuals who possess the academic knowledge needed to teach students and the personal skills needed to connect with them.
Leveraging our global experience and multicultural sensitivity, our broad base of work experience range across various fields including programming, structural, civil, chemical, mechanical and manufacturing, electrical and electronics, aerospace and aviation. We are young, dynamic, in-touch with the generation with a current grasp of contemporary teaching practices and curriculum; and with our fingers on the pulse of the latest educational methods, we deliver imparting knowledge in the quickest and most efficient manner possible!
Our tutors share a vision of a sustainable community where students, graduates and professionals can come together to meet to solve any complex engineering related problems. We are so confident in our method, that we promise high distinctions for all of our students.
We are the best at what we do. Our team of dedicated tutors strives to create an optimum learning environment for students. We employed the knowledge that comes from years of professional engineers stress-tested critical thinking within our fields, and have made it our mission to share these insights with engineering students who are looking to increase their efficiency and the overall quality of their work.
We are resourceful, patient, and well equipped to cater to a variety of different learning styles. Our tutors have a broad knowledge base across a wide spectrum of engineering and mathematical disciplines. Because we have already learnt these subjects and have hands-on experience using these techniques in the field, we are able to communicate concepts and theories in a succinct and applicable manner.
We offer peer-to-peer tutoring, both online and in person. We focus mainly in Math and Engineering subjects. We can work with any type of problem, including tutorial questions, assignments, or exam prep.

Tutor LIM was founded in 2015 by L.G. Lim, also known to his students as Lian.
Since 2010, Lian started private tutoring in helping VCE students with their math and physics problems. In the following year, he ventured into teaching university subjects included engineering mathematics, mechanics and electrical units. His interests for education extended with his voluntary work as a seasonal primary school teacher. Modifying his teaching strategies, Lian started to recognize the different learning styles of each individual tailoring his lessons accordingly to communicate with each student more effectively.
After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 2013 from Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), Lian worked as an engineer in research and development, design, manufacturing, as well as project management. Leveraging this extensive knowledge from working within engineering industry, Lian is dedicated to further his tutoring journey by continuing to share methods of teaching that work effectively for both tutors and students.
