Having grown up with three much younger siblings, teaching has been a large part of my day-to-day life since an early age. Whether it be instructing my younger brother how to kick a football, teaching my sister how to play chords on her guitar, or just helping with maths homework, I have been helping others master skills for as long as I can remember. I take a lot of pride in my teaching, and find it very rewarding when seeing the progression of my students as they their build on their knowledge and skills. In my last 7 years of tutoring I have encountered students from all ages, background, schooling and mathematical aptitude. My experiences have allowed me to develop a wide range of different techniques to best suit individual student requirements. Click here to view my tutoring subjects.
I graduated as DUX of my highschool in 2008, and went on to I attended Monash University from 2009 to 2014, completing a double degree of Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering/ Bachelor of Science (Math double major). I graduated with first class honours in Engineering, a 3.486 GPA and a high distinction average across both my engineering and science degrees. I was also lucky enough to complete two university exchange semesters, studying in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2010 and North Carolina, USA in 2013. During my studies I developed a particular interest in aircraft propulsion systems, aerodynamics and applied mathematics.
During my final year of high school, I spent a lot of time assisting my fellow students with their maths and physics. I found this to be a mutually beneficial process; I was able to help teach others key concepts, but where I could not teach a topic due to a lack of understanding, it would help highlight and isolate my areas of weakness. This worked out to be not only a very productive form of study, but also a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding process and inspired me began my own tutoring business immediately after finishing high school.
My first client was a university student requiring assistance with a physics assignment, who I helped achieve a high distinction. I have since tutored over 80 students during the last 7 years, ranging from primary school math fundamentals to advanced university engineering.
I have been fascinated by flight for as long as I can remember, and even after studying it in great depth I still marvel at an object as massive as a passenger jet being able glide through the air. I have been lucky enough to attend the Australian Airshow multiple times, missing only once since my first time in 2009.
Travelling has been a large part of my life since my first trip overseas when I was 19. My time abroad has been very beneficial to my personal growth and development, and has enabled me to make great friends all over the world. I have travelled to over 35 countries since my first trip, including an 8 month trip to the US and an 18,000 km drive from London to Mongolia through Iran and central Asia.
I love sport, in particular Australian Rules Football, cricket and surfing. I am a very passionate supporter of the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.
